That's the sad thing with the recent thing. Sure, Dirge of Cerberus was an OK game. Like any good FF7 fanling, I wanted to get it. Same goes for Crisis Core. Of course, I watched Advent Children (I didn't like it much after some analysis but I watched it).

Of course, I want to go look for some decent fanfiction or some decent fanart but what do I see? Bad OOC slash and WTF pairings. Moe!Cloud =/= IC!Cloud. Rapist!Sephiroth =/= IC!Sephiroth! Rabid slashers however don't care and make this happen. WHY? Just for good ole happy fun tiemz BUTTSEKS.
Does anyone care Planet is gonna explode? Does anyone care there's a comet going to crash? Does anyone care about Marlene? How about the crazy WEAPONS rampaging around town?

NO!

Not anymore apparently! What's important is that Cloud is on a neverending quest to chase after his "ZOMGONETWUWUB!"
Or what's important is that the oh so hot Vincent Valentine, father of Jill Valentine is getting screentime!
What's important is that Sephiroth is baring his sexeh chest AGAIN!

FF7 isn't just about hot bishonen and OOC!Slash.

I get the random pairings once in awhile but it seems like a constant thing nowadays and that gets old fast. I have nothing against fanart ( hell I've done my own Crisis Core cartoon and Zelda stuff), but there is such a load of garbage out there that it's like "Enough already".

And it's almost always Sephiroth banging/making out with/checking out Cloud. Whatever happened to... Oh, I dunno.. Aerith? Or Tifa?

If you do see Aerith and Tifa, there's a good chance the artist/writer thinks it's the best thing in the world to have the two claw each other apart. That's another thing I don't get. Maybe, just maybe, there was some small inkling of rivalry for Cloud's affection at the begining of the game. Maybe. But I always saw the two as friends.

Same here. And of course, the rabid slashfan goes "ZOMGWomen! They must be after Sephiroth's boytoy!". Tifa and Aerith suddenly either become bitches or turn gay for each other. Pity she died so early in the game. It would have been interesting to see the dynamics between the two, if there would have been a possible rivalry and how they would have been as friends.

Apparently, up until half way through development, her death wasn't pinned down. There were plans for her demise to occur as late as the Northern Crater. Some people have hacked the game and found some extra dialog spoken by Aeris at points after her murder in the Ancient Capital. Would've been interesting to see what more could have happened with her and Tifa storywise. Course, I'm an Aerith fan so I'm a bit biased but still woulda been cool.

It really would have. Aerith was such a good party member when equipped right and she isn't half as irritating as people think she is. I liked her more than Tifa.
